The South Visayas

Welcome to one of the most biodiverse places on the planet, South Visayas.

For nearly 40 years we have been diving the Visayas and the South has byfar the best variety. From all types of diving, swim throughs, walls, slope, muck, coral, drift & night diving. South Visayas has it all. It is also the place in the Philippines with the most amount of sanctuaries so majority of the dive sites have been protected for years. Onboard M/Y Gypsy you will always have the privilege of having a dive site all to yourself.

Moalboal

The world famous Sardine run, a must experience for any diver. Guranteed millions of sardines along a steep wall. Pescador island is also a gorgeous tiny rock with vibrant sofr corals and swim through. Cathedral is one of our favorite dive sites. Chances of passing by whale sharks are quite common in the mornings when M/Y Gypsy is alone there diving.

Santander

A hidden gem for the diving community. Crystal clear waters with white sand slopy dive sites and incredibly vibrant marine life, seagrass and turtles. The beaches there are also nursery for white and black tip sharks.

Sumilon Island

The very first sanctuary in the Philippines was made here! Home to black and white tip sharks. Strong drift dives as well easy no current wall dives. Huge schools of jacks, spadefish and barracudas along with stunning corals.

Bohol

Here we have multiple stops, our favorite Cabilao island. Famous for Hammer heads, but very deep… Cabilao has some of the best wall dive with vibrant soft corals and seafans. The star of the show here is the Green & Yellow giant frogfishes. Balicasag & Pamilican we have special permit to dive and it has some of the best turtle population in the country and very. very big schools of fish.

Siquijor Island

Probably the best hard coral island in the Visayas. After diving the soft coral places in Bohol & Cebu you will be amazed how the typography changes between the islands. Little critters and crystal clear waters are best described for the island.

Apo Island

Apo Island Marine Reserve is one of the most successful marine sanctuaries established in the Philippines. Reef hooks and gloves are not allowed and night diving is unfortunately not permitted. The order of dives will be based on the currents and conditions of the day choosing from Coconut Point An often fast-paced drift brings divers over the sloping coral reef wall. Along the way, giant trevally, blackfin barracuda, big schools of big-eyed trevally, and plenty of sea snakes can be encountered.

Dauin Coastaline

Dauin is one of the most biodiverse places on the planet, through 3 municipalities, Dauin, Zamboanguita & Siaton. Here you can pretty much find anything but it is most famous for the frogfishes and rare critters such as octopuses. If it’s blue ring octopus you want to see? Then we got a dive site just for you. Muck diving is the main attraction and if it’s something you’ve never tried, you have to try.

What we like to ask guests at the end of a trip, how was the overall trip? And it’s safe to say that South Visayas will dilver overall one of the best dive experinces you can have. And of course with only max 8 guests making it a holiday of a lifetime.
